I recently received a beautiful book called Cancer Under the Radar: Young Adults Tell Their Stories. It was born out of a creative arts therapy support group for young adults in Montreal. Each member of the group submitted photos, art, poetry or prose, as means of conveying the unique experiences of young adult living with cancer.
I would have been considered a young adult when I was first diagnosed with a disease that traditionally hits older adults and I can relate to the particular concerns that arise as a young person.
The young people in this book express themselves beautifully and I am incredibly moved by the nontraditional way they have shared pieces of themselves.
