The Cancer Poetry Project finally arrived in my mail box! It was worth the wait. It is a beautiful book full of poetry that truly resonates. I’ve just begun to dip in randomly, but each poem feels like a little jewel.
The book is organized, so that you can find poems by kind of author (patient, health care provider, etc) or by theme (accepting a new body, facing death, etc). The poems are well chosen by the editor, Karin Miller.
Consider supporting this project and purchasing a book or two. Get one for yourself and one for someone you love, or for your local library. You will not be sorry.
Take a look at http://www.cancerpoetryproject.com for details on how to order. There is also a call for submissions for poems for Volume 2. Deadline is April 30th, 2012.
